All kinds of electric installations worldwide can be harmed by surges and lighting strikes. This results in faster degredation of components and in some cases instant failures leading to fires.

Fighting this surge protection can add to resilience of all kinds of electrical installations. For critical installations NFPA even demands the use of surge protection. One of them being all machines that have a safety circuit. According to NFPA 79, surge protection products must ensure voltage limitation according to the insulation coordination.

The VARITECTOR PU AC US series have the UL-Listed certification mark, which includes the requirements of NFPA 79. The product series is designed for North American grounding networks and is approved as type 1 in accordance with the highest UL classification.

Powerful protection

The specially developed integrated disconnection mechanism enables safe operation with a short-circuit resistance (SCCR) of up to 200 kA. All products are approved as Type 1 according to the highest UL classification.

Full status control

All products in the VPU AC series have a highly visible optical indicator. In addition, variants with pluggable remote signalling contacts are available, which reports an obsolete plug to an external monitoring system.

Vibration-resistant

Thanks to the use of a locking clip, the VARITECTOR PU series fulfils high vibration requirements. A tool is required to disconnect the base and the arrester.

VSPC series: pluggable protection for I&C loops

The VARITECTOR SPC features a pluggable arrester which can be easily replaced or tested without any re-wiring. The V-TEST testing device enables an easy observance of maintenance intervals. The simple snap-on VSPC BASE allows for convenient mounting while simultaneously establishing a PE contact via the mounting rail.
